My Background
I started my undergraduate career at the University of Rochester with a double major in Brain & Cognitive Science and Digital Media. I stayed there for a year and a half before studying abroad in Denmark for a graphic design foundations program. I traveled to 6 other countries with newfound friends and accepted that I wanted to do something more creative with my life.
Upon discovering Media Arts + Practice at USC, I felt the program encompassed what I needed to grow to my fullest potential as a designer/creative. I transferred to USC in 2019, and completed my B.A. in May 2022.
Currently, I am actively searching for internships or entry-level roles in UI/UX and/or Product Design. When I'm not job hunting, or learning about design, I'm going to the gym, watching YouTube videos, and working on continuing my undergraduate thesis project, Tiger Tea Zine.
Growing up, I loved designing fantasy weapons, playing with imaginary dragons, Pokémon, and countless books. Then in 4th grade, I learned the violin and got obsessed with music. From there, I learned the piano, ukulele, guitar, and now the cello.
In 2014, I taught STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Arts, Math) education to underserved kids in LA. After that, I thought I was a #STEMKid4Life. In the summer of 2016, I got a fellowship and did ocean acidification research in Maine — while it was a great experience, it taught me that you had to be comfortable possibly having unanswered questions — forever. And I was someone who wanted answers.
For a while, I thought maybe it was the teaching part of STEM that I liked most. But after tutoring and teaching for a year at a charter middle school, I learned that I loved the psychology, creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration of everything I've done.
And that's how I learned design was for me. I want to continuously learn and solve problems, make effective and beautiful experiences for people, and work together with others who want to make the world better.
