Tiger Tea Zine

Overview

For my thesis project at the University of Southern California (USC), I wanted to bring together my interests in design and psychology to create a community while raising awareness for the stigma of mental health in the Asian community. I collected hundreds of photos, stories, collages, poetry, and art to create a safe space for other Asians to share their multidimensional identities and authentic stories.

Tiger Tea Zine

PROJECT SUMMARY

I curated, edited, and designed a collective art journal and built a community that focuses on mental health and Asian identities. Together with the community I've fostered, we humanize the Asian community and fight against both mental health stigma and the generalizations of the model minority myth through visual arts and narrative storytelling.
